Com’è nata la tua partecipazione in questo progetto?
Ho conosciuto Francesco vendendogli un divano! Con l’occasione, sapendo che era sceneggiatore, gli ho regalato un fumetto sul mito di Tarpea realizzato da me. Poi l’ho incontrato a un workshop di sceneggiatura e abbiamo iniziato a parlare di questo progetto. Poi ho conosciuto anche il resto del team!
Qual è la tua storia preferita?
“De Postremo Sole” per vari motivi: la lunga attesa sul limes britannico è un po’ una metafora della vita umana: dobbiamo trovare dentro di noi forza, in un ideale. Se vogliamo, uuna spiritualità. Rappresenta anche le difficoltà di rimanere fedeli a noi stessi e alle nostre tradizioni quando tutto intorno sta cambiando e ci sentiamo persi. Ma il cambiamento è davvero la fine di tutto? O possiamo vederlo come arricchimento personale?

Direi “mingere cum bumbis est bonum lumbis”…perché anche questa affermazione, poco signorile, acquista una certa nobiltà in latino.
How did your participation in this project come about?
I met Francesco Vacca because I sold him a sofa! Knowing that he was a screenwriter, I gave him a comic book on the Tarpea myth that I made. Then I met him again at a screenwriting workshop and we talked about this project.
What is your favourite story?
I would say ‘De Postremo Sole’ for a series of reasons: the long wait at the edge of the empire is a metaphor for human life: we have to find the strength within ourselvesin our ideal. If you like, it’s a kind of spirituality. This story also represents the difficulties of remaining true to ourselves when the whole world around us is changing. But is change really the end or can also be personal enrichment?

I would say mingere cum bumbis est bonum lumbis: it’s quite a profanity that acquires nobility when said in Latin.
