Decidere quali testi copiare non è solo una questione di gusti. Eppure c’è un posto sicuro dove mettere in salvo parole scomode. Persino più sicuro di quel che il proprietario potesse immaginare. Una fantasia, ma anche una speranza: forse, da qualche parte, la letteratura latina che reputiamo perduta esiste ancora.
The choice about which texts will be copied is not just a matter of taste. Yet there is a safe place to put unconvenient words. Even safer than the owner could imagine. A fantasy, but also a hope: perhaps, somewhere, the Latin literature we consider lost still exists.
